The next step in tech should be small and local.

Human race harvist the nature resources. With the knowledge gained, we can do things more efficient and mobile. The mainframe, the PC, the laptop, the netbook and the smart phone.

We are working to provide powers to individuals and local location. The thing we still can't provide with easy is the energy and food. We haven't been able to provide mobile energy to personal and location independent.

Suppose we were able to provide energy and food efficient regardless of location, human can then live in any location - this will stablize and prevent centralized dezaster. To achieve these in a small scale, we can think about generate power from the lawn grass, solar power ...
